Tripping Daisy formed in the late 1980's in Denton, Texas. They first gained notice on the regional scene when the song "Lost and Found" was released on the various artists CD "Tales from the Edge" volume 4. They would later release two more CDs. However, in 1996, guitarist Wes Berggen died of a heroin overdose. The remaining Daisies reformed and added a number of new people as The Polyphonic Spree.
